The IB visual arts course is like a refuge in which one can express oneself through art. For me, it has been a very grate experience because throughout the different situations I have been going through I have been able to express myself and in a way release all of my thoughts, and stress. Along the course I have experienced with various media and techniques such as ceramics, oils, charcoal, acrylics and wood. With most of them I struggled because they were new to me; however, I grew to like very much the watercolors and the acrylics. I don’t think that after this two-year course I have truly found my own theme and my own style. It is very challenging two do this in such a short time because in the world of art there are many themes, feelings, mediums and ideas to explore. In my artworks, there are different themes, cultural settings and feelings. For instance, the big face I did in a project with two of my other classmates represents the otherness, the creation of oneself through others. As well as there could be found the feeling of love, decay and solitude through the heart. Lastly in another of my artworks, sexuality is present in this is found in my men and women sculpture. These both depict sexuality through a woman’s breasts and a male torso also representing the more clichéé sexual parts in human beings. For the men and women sculpture I based my self especially for the male torso in the famous sculpture Philippe Faraut. He is an award wining stone sculpture who, specializes in representational art. I believe he was the best example I could find in both representational art and male torso sculpture. He has definition and precision. My works are mostly influenced by the expressionist movement; they all communicate emotions and psychological truths.  The most relevant knowledge the art IB course gave me was a better perspective when interpreting objects and feelings. It taught me how to see things in different ways and how to express myself uniquely and differently.
