The Artist Statement
Paola Perez
Along
my 2 years of art exploration I've been working in two big problems in society.
The topics I’ve been working along these years are animal abuse and how society
ruins you little by little. Most of my art pieces are a representation of how
society hides the real you, something that affects millions of people now a
day, in the other hand animal abuse is something that interests me a lot because
of my future carrier which is becoming a vet and saving all the animals i can
from these danger. I’m really concerned about the problem the way they suffer
and how people ignore this problematic happening around the world. Along my
media testing I’ve been trying to show a good example of these problems in a
very indirect and visual way.
The
artist that has been a big inspiration is Salvador Dali which as a surrealist
painter with amazing pieces that has inspired me in most of my paintings. It is
important also to mention that he is a great artist and that I love every
single one of his paintings because they are original and that is what I tried
to do with my art works.
I
was inspired by many artists such as Salvador Dali and Caravaggio which
inspired me in several of my artworks. The artistic movement that in used in
some of my pieces is surrealism which is a technique interpreting the
subconscious to create realities. The other topic I worked with was the
critique to society and how we are ruined and covered by its demands. These two
years of artwork were a discovery of my abilities in different media.
